Golden Tulip Caramulo Hotel

I had a fantastic time here, dining at an excellent restaurant, surrounded by stunning scenery like the Seattle Waterfront just a short walk away.

Room met the purpose. Free Wi Fi was available in public areas...

There was nothing I didnt like.

The room was huge & warm except for the bedroom, had free Wi-Fi. The location was marvellous in the village "Montanha " restaurant and the atmosphere was quiet!

Friendly staff made my 1-day stay here super enjoyable. 😊 Everyone was so nice and amazing!

One of the dining options, Restaurante Marte was 5 mins walk away. They had everything we wanted for our vacation, we enjoyed stuff and facilities. It is not far from the airport. This hotel is an excellant base a city break in Caramulo.

The hotel is located at a very high point in the Serra do Caramulo, with a wide view of the Serra da Estrela. It is an old hotel, where you can see the imprint of time. The check-in was excellent and we were given the room even before the official timetables. The restaurant is good at a reasonable price.

We were charged twice for the "tocas" or bathing caps (we paid them in cash on the evening of August 9th and they were added to the bill for the stay). The corridors and carpeted rooms are more difficult to clean. At the bottom of the corridors, at the height of the lifts, there was a smell of wood smoke (there is a fireplace on the reception floor), in the corridor on the fourth floor there was a box of assorted biscuits scattered along the wall (I ended up collecting them inside the box myself because in 24 hours the situation was the same). The cracks in the walls reflect the deterioration of the building, which was widely exposed to the rigors of the Caramulo mountain range. The indoor swimming pool also requires renovation (it is in a building annexed to the hotel) because being really big, it has complicated access and aged facilities, where the cleaning does not look at all.

The venue was clean and huge. Our room was nicely decorated and spacious with closets, just what was needed. It was in a stunning location right by the Montanha village restaurant.

Clean accommodation, friendly staff. Nicely decorated room with a view to mountain. Very clean swimming pool and stunning location right by Caramulo, a village founded shortly after the 1st World War to host sanatoriums for tuberculosis and other respiratory diseases, the available indoor and outdoor activities, and the village '' Montanha '' restaurant.

Upon check-in, we were pleasantly surprised by the well-designed standard twin room we were given.

I liked the facilities like swimming pool, gym, sauna, etc. The restaurant is fabulous and recommended.

Excellent hotel services, the Spa, outdoor and indoor swimming pools. Great value for money spent. Located on a beautiful village, with nice restaurants nearby, Caramulo museum in front of the hotel. If you want really to relax, away from crowded summer places, this is definitely a place to go and I'll return.

For our stay, nothing.

Comfortable bed in the standard room, along with central heating so you won't freeze! There's also a TV with plenty of channels to choose from and a desk for when you need to jot things down. the restaurant served up some tasty dishes that hit the spot. 🍽️.

The hotel was spacious set in nice surroundings and the staff helpfull, it was nice to have the pool as we had young children with us.
